Position of AECANI
Hemp flowers and hemp extracts containing up to 1% of THC constitute agricultural products which, according to Community regulations, enjoy free circulation on the European market.
Aspects Requiring Clarification
AECANI identifies the following items that could benefit from more precise delineation
What does AECANI propose?
Our constructive proposal includes
- Clarification of the scope of application to distinguish industrial hemp from medical cannabis
- Recognition of 1% THC as the scientific threshold for the CBD-dominant chemotype
- Regulatory consistency with the agricultural character of industrial hemp recognized by PAC

The hemp sector generates more than 10,000 jobs and contributes significantly to the Spanish rural economy.
